The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during the second week of the 2021 season. Lincoln Memorial forward Rachel Taylor was named the offensive player of the week, while Lenoir-Rhyne goalkeeper Grayson Cameron was named defensive player of the week.
Taylor, a senior from Clarksville, Tenn., led the Railsplitters to a 1-0-1 week with a tie against Clayton State (2-2) and a win over West Virginia State (1-0). She assisted on both goals against Clayton State and scored the game-winning goal against West Virginia State to finish the week with a goal and two assists for four points.
Cameron, a senior from Hickory, N.C., allowed just one goal in 220 minutes of action last week as the Bears tied North Greenville (1-1) and No. 4 Florida Tech (0-0). She made five saves and allowed just one goal against North Greenville in the first match of the week, but she closed out the week with a nine save shutout performance against Florida Tech. For the week Cameron made 14 saves with a 0.41 goals against average.
