Catawba's Ehmer Adds Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year Accolade to Standout Season
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba College's Bree Ehmer was voted as the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the conference announced today.
The South Atlantic Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year award is presented annually to one student-athlete in each of the Conference's championship sports and is voted on by the SAC's Faculty Athletic Representatives Committee. The award recognizes excellence in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
Ehmer, a junior majoring in Sports Medicine, carries a 4.0 cumulative GPA at Catawba. She is a consistent presence on the Dean's List and has earned recognition on the SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll while also being named a CSC Academic All-District selection. Her academic success reflects a strong commitment to leadership and excellence in the classroom.
On the field, Ehmer has established herself as one of the premier players in Division II women's soccer. She was named the 2025 SAC Offensive Player of the Year after leading the Catawba Indians to both the SAC Regular Season and Tournament championships. Ehmer recorded 20 goals and six assists for a conference-best 46 points, ranking first nationally in scoring and guiding Catawba to its first-ever No. 1 seed in the NCAA Regional. Following the season, she was named a unanimous All-American and earned Ron Lenz National Player of the Year honors.
During her career, Ehmer has earned SAC Freshman of the Year, multiple All-SAC First Team selections and Second Team All-Region honors. She made an immediate impact as a freshman with 11 goals and six assists and followed with a team-leading 12-goal campaign as a sophomore, helping Catawba reach the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons.
Off the field, Ehmer is equally committed to service and leadership. She serves as a SAAC Committee Member, is the Vice President of the Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group, and has volunteered extensively as a recreational youth soccer coach, giving back to the sport and community that helped shape her career.
Her combined achievements in academics, athletics, leadership and service exemplify the values of the South Atlantic Conference.
