Catawba Enters SAC Women's Tennis Tournament as Top Seed as Bracket is Released
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba continued its dominance in South Atlantic Conference women's tennis, completing a perfect 11-0 regular season to claim the 2026 SAC Women's Tennis Regular Season Championship. The Indians enter next week's SAC Women's Tennis Championship as the No. 1 seed.
Lenoir-Rhyne secured the No. 2 seed after finishing the season at 10-1 in conference play, while Wingate claimed the No. 3 seed with a 9-2 mark. Newberry rounds out the top four with an 8-3 record to earn the No. 4 seed.
Anderson and Lincoln Memorial both finished 6-5 in SAC play, tying for fifth place. Anderson earned the No. 5 seed thanks to its 4-3 head-to-head victory over LMU, while the Railsplitters take the No. 6 seed.
Another tie occurred between UVA Wise and Carson-Newman, who each posted 5-6 conference records. UVA Wise claimed the No. 7 seed following its 4-3 win over Carson-Newman during the regular season, while the Eagles enter the tournament as the No. 8 seed.
The 2026 South Atlantic Conference Women's Tennis Championship will be held at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C., beginning with quarterfinal matches, followed by semifinals and the championship match.
