Hart Earns SAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum's Jahzara Hart has been named the 2026 South Atlantic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year, the Conference office announced on Wednesday (June 3).
Hart, a senior sprinter from Raleigh, North Carolina, concluded a remarkable season by capturing two NCAA Division II National Championships and helping lead Tusculum to a fifth-place finish in the team standings at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
Hart claimed the national title in the 100-meter dash with a winning time of 11.30 seconds and ran the anchor leg on Tusculum's national championship 4x100-meter relay team that crossed the finish line in 44.05 seconds. She also earned All-America honors in the 200 meters, placing third nationally to complete an outstanding performance at the national meet.
Throughout the regular season, Hart established herself as one of the premier sprinters in Division II. She recorded the nation's fastest 100-meter time of the year at 11.11 seconds and was a member of the Division II-leading 4x100-meter relay squad that posted a season-best time of 43.97 seconds.
The SAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year award is determined following the completion of the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships and is voted on by the league's head coaches.
