Three SAC Teams Selected to Compete in NCAA DII Volleyball Tournament
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The NCAA announced the 64 teams that will make up the Division II Volleyball Tournament this evening. The South Atlantic Conference has three teams in the Southeast Region with Wingate earning the No. 1 seed.
Wingate won the SAC Regular Season and Tournament Championships and are currently riding 20-game winning streak and are 28-2 overall. The Bulldogs earn the right to host the regional where they are a perfect 11-0 at Cuddy Arena on the season.
Lenoir-Rhyne, the Regular Season and Tournament Runners Up, will be the No. 5 seed in the region. The Bears are 25-6 on the season and 14-4 in the SAC. They will advance to the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year under head coach Nicole Barringer.
Anderson rounds out the SAC teams as the Trojans earned the No. 6 seed. Anderson sits at 19-10 overall and 13-5 in league play. Before falling to LR in the SAC Semifinal, Anderson had won 14 of 16 matches. The Trojans won the Southeast Regional last year and advanced to the National Quarterfinals.
