Tusculum Women’s Cross Country Team Has Second Highest GPA in Nation
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --- The Tusculum College women's cross country team boasts the second-highest team grade point average in all of Division II according to the NCAA Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Pioneers claim a 3.69 team GPA, second only to Ohio Valley College's 3.95.
Three individuals also made the All-Academic team. Senior Sue Lewis (Cincinnati, Ohio) and junior Amanda Musick (Lebanon, Va.) are repeat honorees, having been named in 2001. Lewis carries a 3.66 GPA majoring in English and Musick has a 3.48 GPA as a Business major. Sophomore Ross Lewis (Morristown, Tenn.) makes the team for the first time, with a 3.45 GPA majoring in History Education.
Sue Lewis is a three-time First Team All-South Atlantic Conference selection and was named to the All-Southeast Region Team in 2001. Musick is the 2003 SAC Runner of the Year and is also a three-time All-SAC harrier. Both Lewis and Musick became the first TC student-athletes to compete in a NCAA National Championship in 2001 and Musick followed that up by returning in 2003. Ross Lewis earned Second Team All-Conference honors in 2002 and 2003.

is a NCAA Division II member of the South Atlantic Conference,
which is comprised of eight colleges and universities in Tennessee,
North Carolina and South Carolina.
