Wingate's Althaus Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com)– The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week in meets competed in during the first week of the 2019 season. Wingate's Franziska Althaus was named the runner of the week. 

Althaus, a freshman from Wiesbaden, Germany, earned her first collegiate win at the Catawba Fleet Feet Cross Country Invitational this past Sunday where she also helped lead the Bulldogs to a team win. Althaus completed the 5k course in 18:41, defeating the next closest competitor by 51 seconds. 

This is Althaus's first Runner of the Week honor for the 2019 season.
