Wingate's Orrock Named South Atlantic Conference Astroturf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets competed in during the second week of the 2021 season. Wingate's Lara Orrock was named runner of the week.

Orrock, a junior from Bloemfontein, South Africa, finished second in the Bulldog Stampede Saturday, helping her team to victory for the eighth time in eight years. Orrock posted a 6K time of 22:57.6 as five Wingate student-athletes found spots in the top 10 individually. Wingate has won every Bulldog Stampede contest since 2013. The Bulldogs did not host a Stampede in 2020, due to the global pandemic. Wingate went on to record 28 points Saturday.
