Queens' Carreira Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week for meets competed in during the seventh week of the 2021 season. Queens' Cherise Carreira was named runner of the week.

Carreira, a freshman from East London, South Africa was named the USTFCCCA National Athlete of the Week after placing third in the 5K race at the USC Upstate Invitational with a time of 18:04.8. The third place finish helped the Royals finish sixth overall. This is Carreira's first Runner of the Week honor this season.
