Four SAC Basketball Student-Athletes Nominated to Allstate WBCA/NABC Good Works Teams

INDIANAPOLIS – The WBCA, NABC and Allstate Insurance Company jointly announced on Tuesday the 202 nominees for the 2014 Allstate Good Works Teams, a list the includes four SAC basketball student-athletes.
The Allstate WBCA and NABC Good Works Teams recognize student-athletes that have made significant contributions to the greater good of their communities through volunteerism and civic service.
In its second year, the Good Works Team program honors players at all levels of college basketball who represent the sport's finest in the areas of leadership and charitable achievements. The student-athletes nominated for this prestigious award embody the true spirit of teamwork and giving back.
Earning nominations from the SAC are Wingate's Jasmine DeBerry, Anderson's Chandler Hash, Coker's Eren Moses and Newberry's Brunes Charles.
DeBerry averages 0.8 points in 8.2 minutes per game for the Wingate women, While Hash averages 25 points, Moses four points and Charles 5.2 points for their respective schools' men's programs.
A voting panel will next select two 10-member teams comprised of five student-athletes from NCAA Division I and five from NCAA Division II, III and the NAIA. Current WNBA and former Tennessee player Tamika Catchings headlines the WBCA voting panel, while former Duke and NBA star Grant Hill leads the men's panel. The final roster of 20 award recipients will be announced in February.
