ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Mars Hill midfielder Alex Mullen has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for games played Oct. 20-26, the League announced today.
Mullen, a senior from Adelaide, Australia, scored three goals and dished out two assists to lead the Lions to a pair of key South Atlantic Conference wins last week. At Carson-Newman on Oct. 22, he was in on every goal as he finished the contest with two goals, including the game-winner and two assists in a 4-1 win over the Eagles. Three days later at Brevard, Mullen found the back of the net in the 103rd minute to lift the Lions to the 2-1 come-from-behind win over the Tornados. The award marks his first Player of the Week selection this season.
Also nominated for Men's Soccer Player of the Week: Magnus Larsen (Anderson) and Roberto Pimentel (Tusculum).
