#14 Wingate advances to regional semis with 3-1 victory over Lions
Wingate, N.C.----The top-seeded and 14th-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs are on to the NCAA Southeast Regional semifinals for the 15th time in the last 17 years after taking down eighth-seeded Emmanuel 3-1 in the quarterfinals of the 2025 NCAA Southeast Regional volleyball tournament Thursday night in Cuddy Arena. Wingate prevailed 25-15, 18-25, 25-18 and 25-12 to win its 28th straight, moving to 29-1 overall and advancing to Friday night's semifinals against Flagler. The Lions end their season at 22-10.

- Wingate had 60 kills and 10 errors in 143 attacks, hitting .350
- Emmanuel had 42 kills and 17 errors in 153 swings to hit .163
- The 'Dogs had a 12-6 advantage in aces
- The Bulldogs had nine of the 12 blocks

Bears take down Lander 3-1 to advance to NCAA Second Round
WINGATE, N.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne volleyball began their 2025 NCAA Tournament campaign with a four set victory against Lander in the opening round. Kayli Cleaver and Emmaleigh Allen combined for 31 kills while Emmie Modlin and Alicia Barbarito combined for 40 assists.
Lenoir-Rhyne will face-off against #3 seeded Anderson Anderson for the fourth time this season in the second round of the NCAA Tournament tomorrow at 4:00 p.m.
"I'm so proud of this team for their response after the second set," said head coach Nicole Barringer. "We did our job defensively against the best outside in the Peach Belt. We had a complete game offensively and scored in a lot of different areas. Super proud of our entire team that helped us plan and execute against a really good team. Excited for the next round!"
MOVING ON! Trojans Top Augusta To Advance To NCAA Regional Semifinals
WINGATE, N.C. -- The No. 3 seeded Trojans earned a four set win in the NCAA Southeast Region Quarterfinals on Thursday morning over No. 6 Augusta by scores of 25-18, 25-14, 20-25 and 25-22. The Trojans advance to the Semifinals when they will play either Lenoir-Rhyne or Lander on Friday, Dec. 5 at 4 p.m.
"The team played well today for most of the match," head coach Todd Hay said. "Yes, we had some ups and downs but as whole it was pretty solid in all areas. It feels to good to advance after the disappointing early exit of 2024. I think that just shows this team has come a long way in past 12 months. Really proud of our effort."
