The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week, Oct. 12

Read, a junior from London, England, totaled seven points from two goals and three assists last week in League play. At the 44th minute against Lincoln Memorial, Read scored the game-winning goal after a long pass from Stuart Oliver led to a breakaway, giving the Eagles a 2-1 victory. The goal was his second of the season. Three days later, the midfielder scored a goal and tallied three assists in Carson-Newman's 4-3 win against Catawba. Reads' three assists against Catawba was the first time an Eagle contributed to three goals since 2004.  The award is his first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
