The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Jan. 11
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Catawba forward Terri Rogers has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 4-10, the League announced today.
Rogers, a sophomore from Burlington, N.C., posted back-to-back 20-point games and averaged a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead her squad to a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week. She got her week started with 22 points, 13 rebounds, one assist and one steal in an 85-51 win at Queens on Jan. 6. The days later at Brevard, Rogers connected on 12-of-16 from the field and a pair of free-throws to finish with 26 points as the Catawba Indians downed the Tornados, 70-55. She also ripped down seven rebounds and notched one assist in the win. Rogers ranks fifth in the League with 14.6 points per game and is also No. 5 in the South Atlantic Conference with 8.4 rebounds per game. The honor is her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
