The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Dec. 14

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson forward Jennifer Monroe has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Dec. 7 – 13, the League announced today.

Monroe, a senior from Clemson, S.C., averaged 17 points and 9.5 rebounds a game, narrowly missing consecutive double-doubles on a perfect 2-0 week against Conference opponents. In a hard fought win over Newberry, Monroe tallied 18 points and brought down nine rebounds, including seven on the offense which led to 17 second-chance points for the Trojans. She posted a double-double against Tusculum with 16 points and ten rebounds while chipping in two steals and an assist. Anderson is the last remaining unbeaten team in the SAC with an overall 6-0 record. The award marks her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
