The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Feb. 22

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson guard Madison Floyd has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 15-22, the League announced today.

Floyd, a senior from Cowpens, S.C., posted 19 points per game and shot 62 percent from long range to lead the Trojans to a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week.  At Brevard on Feb. 17, Floyd put in 18 points on 60 percent from the floor and 57 percent from three-point land as the Trojans defeated the Tornados, 81-75.  Floyd also came away with one rebound, two assists and two steals in the win.  She followed that performance with 20 points on 7-of-12 from the floor and 4-of-6 from downtown in a 61-44 win over Lenoir-Rhyne on Feb. 20.  Floyd collected four rebounds against the Bears to go along with three assists and two steals.

Floyd currently ranks No. 7 on Anderson's career three-pointers list as she played in 70 minutes of action for the Trojans last week.  The award is her first Player of the Week plaudit this season.
